Engaging local communities for GPs and Primary Care Networks
On Wednesday 13 December, we held a training session for staff within primary care services on engaging with local communities within GP Practice and PCN areas. NHS Kent and Medway is committed to engaging with the people and communities we serve and we want to make sure that people and communities are involved across health and social care.
The engagement team worked with Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway to develop a toolkit for primary care networks and GP practices to support and offer guidance with involving and engaging local communities. The session will included practical tips on getting started with local engagement, information on working with PPGs and on statutory duties on involvement, as well as looking at issues PCNs and GPs face in involving people. The slides of the training can be found on the right hand side of this page.
We hope to run future training sessions focusing on engaging local communities. If you are interested in attending future sessions, please email Katie on katie.blissett@nhs.net
