Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre
There were cheers of joy from patients, volunteers, local residents and NHS colleagues as the £14million Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre was officially opened on Friday 26th April 2024.
After more than seven years of planning, engagement and construction, the centre, which combines a GP surgery, children’s services, diagnostic services, a wellbeing centre and a wide range of outpatient clinics, had welcomed its first patients in November 2023.
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) and Edenbridge Medial Practice run the majority of services, alongside partners from Sevenoaks District Council and the local hospital trust.
Prior to that, during March 2023 people in Edenbridge were asked their views on the new health centre. With construction in full swing and the roof about to go on to the building, the full range of proposed services that could be delivered from the centre would be talked through, plus Edenbridge residents are being asked how the community space could be used by community and voluntary groups.
A public meeting took place on 4 March 2023 and two online listening events on 8 and 17 March. There have been several mini-roadshows around the town on the bus outside Waitrose and an online survey for people to get involved with and share feedback. The survey gave everyone the opportunity to have their say and closed on Friday, 31 March 2023. The survey results are now available and can be found via KCHFT website below.
The new Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre was made possible due to funding from a private development agreement underwritten by NHS Kent and Medway, Sevenoaks District Council, Edenbridge Town Council and the sale of the former Edenbridge hospital site.
