Asthma and young people

In February and March 2024 the NHS in Kent and Medway wanted to understand more about how asthma impacts your child or young person's life.

We wanted to hear about:

  • their personal asthma action plan, do they have one and who else has seen it?
  • how useful it is to see a nurse for an annual review
  • what kind of ways are helpful to them, and to you, when finding out about local asthma services or getting information?

We visited schools to talk to young people to find out what they think, but we also wanted to get the opinions of parents and adults who support young people too.

We ran a survey that closed on Monday, 18 March 2024.

Thank you to everyone who responded, we have read all of the responses and produced a summary of what we heard.

Some of the parents and carers who took part in the survey also supported our team to co-design the Safer Asthma 2024 campaign, which will launch shortly.
